These terms govern use of the RentAssured platform, operated by RentAssured, GEMI no. 195060503000, VAT no. 803347408, support@rentassured.gr. By using the platform you accept them.
1. What the platform does
RentAssured provides tenant referencing (collecting and verifying details, obtaining a previous-landlord reference, issuing an assessment report) and acts as an intermediary for rent protection insurance. It is not an estate agency, it does not enter into tenancies, and it does not decide who rents a property.
2. Accounts
Accounts are held by estate agents and agencies. The password is chosen by the user through a link sent to their email address. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for everything done with them. Prospective tenants, guarantors and previous landlords need no account: they use a personal, time-limited link.
3. Obligations when entering another person's data
When, as an agent, you enter the details of a prospective tenant, co-tenant, guarantor or landlord, you confirm that you are entitled to do so and that you have made that person aware of this Privacy Policy. Referencing does not proceed unless the person themselves consents in the evaluation portal.
4. Accuracy
Information and documents submitted must be true, complete and current. Submitting forged or altered documents is grounds for immediate termination and may carry criminal consequences.
5. Fees and payment
The fee for each check is shown before the order is placed. Card payments are handled by the payment provider; card details do not reach RentAssured. Because the service is performed immediately and is personalised, the right of withdrawal does not apply once the check has begun, under art. 3ιβ of Greek law 2251/1994.
6. The report
The report sets out the information collected and a reasoned risk assessment as at the date of issue. It is an aid, not a guarantee of a tenant's solvency or conduct, and does not replace the landlord's own judgement. It is intended for its recipient alone and may not be circulated further.
7. Acceptable use
The platform may not be used for any purpose other than assessing a specific prospective tenancy. Automated data extraction, attempts to reach other people's cases, and any use that discriminates against applicants contrary to equal-treatment law are prohibited.
8. Availability
We make reasonable efforts to keep the service running but do not guarantee a particular level of availability. Some stages depend on third parties (payments, email and SMS delivery) and on people outside our control, such as a previous landlord.
9. Liability
Our liability is limited to the fee paid for the service in question, save for wilful misconduct or gross negligence. We are not liable for decisions taken by a landlord or agent on the basis of a report, nor for loss arising from inaccurate information supplied by a third party.
10. Intellectual property
The software, trade marks, report structure and site content belong to the company. A case report may be used by its recipient for the purpose for which it was issued.
11. Term and termination
You may ask for your account to be deleted at any time. We may suspend an account that breaches these terms, with notice where practicable.
12. Governing law
Greek law applies. The courts of the company's registered seat have jurisdiction, without prejudice to a consumer's right to sue in the courts of their own domicile or to use an alternative dispute resolution body.
